![]() While the game isn’t yet currently released, invitationals to the Bleeding Edge ‘Technical Alpha’ were sent out to the luckiest of fans, helping Ninja Theory hone the game beyond expectations in time for its upcoming launch. Ninja Theory invited fans to hack n’ slash their way to glory in the world’s most outrageous underground spectator sport. The Bleeding Edge fighters are an underground group of extreme body hackers, rallied behind the mysterious Daemon who guerilla hacked the cybernetic technology to make it accessible to all. ![]() And I hope that bleeding edge turns out to be a good game, so I can fill in some of the melee action and third-person perspective, that I don’t get from OverWatch itself.Bleeding Edge takes place in the near future when a mega corporation HAS (Human Agument Systems) holds a monopoly on life-saving cybernetic enhancements and nano technology. Because, i do hope it is.īut, in the meantime, ill have to seattle for what OverWatch is, currently. So, that’s good, at least.īut, I would be lying if I said I didn’t hate the fact that the lore is so scarce and if I wasn’t holding out hopes that this OverWatch 2 is really a lore based game. But, thankfully, at least in my case, the gameplay itself is still enough to keep me interested. So, now, they have people, like me, who are interested in the lore, yet get very little of it. At least, not at the pace and quality they did before the game launched. They were both showing something they really couldn’t deliver. But, if you look back on it, you can’t deny that they were using those cinematics and such as a way to lure players in. Lore is really the last reason anyone should play Overwatch. So, theres that.Īnd, hey, if these OverWatch 2 rumors are true, I might get my story mode/PvE based OverWatch game, after all, which would be nice.īut, until then, maybe a game like Bleeding Edge can fill that Melee and Third Person “itch” that OW just cant quite scratch. While it was the lore that did, indeed, “get me into the door”, so to speak, it was the gameplay that made me want to stay. So, I was able to make sure the gameplay would hook me, before I threw any money down. Thankfully, at least in my case, I tried out this game, during free to play days. But, by then, blizzard already has your money. Many commenters on this forum have talked about how they (Blizz/The OW Team) used the lore and all that, to lure in people and buy the game, then those same people realize that the lore is scarce. If I’m being honest, what pulled me into OverWatch is the thing we get the least: Lore. And, as I said, I wish OverWatch had more of it. And as far as melee goes, well if it’s done right, I really enjoy it. Third person, just always appealed to me more. ![]() I’m someone that has resonated with very few first person games, over the last two decades or so. I actually like OverWatch, despite it being first person, not because of it. I like first person shooters, like Overwatch. I am excited though and I’m looking forward to learning more, as time goes on.īecause I don’t like third person or melee. I guess only time will tell and we’ll have to see. Especially, considering the studio behind it. It’s pretty much par for the course with them.īleeding edge, though, could be better. They hiked that thing up to be so great, and it turned out to be a pile of poo. I mean, just look at Anthem, as another Forum commenter pointed out. Especially, when companies lie at events like E3, by showing pre-made trailers and no actual gameplay. Upon First Impressions, based on the little we know, it sounds good, but you never know. So, I’m curious to see if someone, like myself, will be drawn to it or not. I know, while they might not be going after the same player base, there could be crossover. Seriously, though, I’m curious to see the similarities and differences between bleeding edge and OverWatch. It was just my little “poke fun” at them. I just made the “OW Killer” joke, because you know how people on the forum can be. Considering overwatch is a FPS and this is 3rd person, they’re not really competitors.
