![]() Or you can take an neutral path and do all by your own, but this is more an "this isn't my problem" way of doing it. ![]() But at the final part of the main quest, the entire world of Eora stays in danger, but yet, the factions refuse to collaborate and you're forced to ally with only one of them, by prejudicating the other. Both of it i just discovered it was an bug because i made the quests while reading it's page on wiki.Ībout the main course of the history: in the game we see four factions (two trading companies, the pirates and the natives, trying to protect their lands) competing by islands of the archipelago, aiming it's resources and strategic positions. Bugs are normal in games, and i played PoE 2 almost two years after it's launch, but i still have found two bugs which made me load the save and re-do the quests, the first because it made the quest take an unwanted path, and the second which i offered an npc to come to my crew and be an sidekick, but she didn't joined my party. I think Deadfire has two major critiques when it came out: it's bugs and the main course of the history. But they'll miss some part of the context of the importance of the Watcher and why the main quest takes this path. The game does have an system to import your PoE 1 save or to create your legacy path by letting you to choose your past decisions, and some choices made in the first game have it's consequences, but is not something that heavily affect the gameplay, indeed it allows for new players to start by the second title instead of the first, which can be understandable since Deadfire has an better gameplay and some more languages. PoE 2 is an bigger game than it's predecessor, with tons of content, and, as i spoke, it has an different theme than the "chaotic country with hollowborn and almost collapsing" in PoE 1, and here we have an land so rich in resources, and even richier in culture and strength, but with outsiders companies trying to take the land for their resources and making it an extension of it's own country. Many who played the first game spoke that this game is weakier or worst than Pillars of Eternity 1, i only say that is different: an different experience and different map with different themes, npcs and history. Despite this, I am so glad I ended up powering through and enjoyed an amazing rpg. The game had so much to learn and so many choices that it felt overwhelming. I have had this game on my backlog for so long due to how intimated I was. The last dlc, Seeker, Slayer, Survivor, was fairly easy when compared to previous two. I had issues with Neriscyrlas who was very challenging to my team. A beast of Winter was probably the hardest of all of them. Regardless, it did provide a challenge and I ended up killing the oracle and releasing the captives by the oracle. The forgotten sanctum was interesting if not trap galore which is a common issue in each dlc. ![]() I ended up playing all the expansions as well. Each character is well defined and the voice acting is great. Once that initial hump of learning the mechanics and pausing, the game becomes a feast for tactics. This method of combat does make the game feel slightly overwhelming at times which is understandingly a turn off for a lot of players. For my first playthrough, I ended up playing using the real time combat. ![]() TIME : it took me about 15 hours, though some claim to have done it in 6.Pillars of eternity is such a detailed and intimating masterpiece. So do this DLC before ending the game: the DLC story fits really nicely anyhow. In fact, if you end the main quest, all other quests are locked out (requires you use a save to do them). * IMPORTANT : you should play this side adventure *before* doing the last chapter of the main quest. COMPANIONS : I used Vatnir (priest of Rymrgand) and Ydwin (animancy researcher) as they both have special reactions in this adventure. c) the animations and visuals are rather beautiful. b) the combat offers some challenge, well for my characters using medium armor or less (I played level 20, veteran, Critical Path upscale). It does not only give a new perspective on the followers of the god Rymrgand, it gives deeper insights on what happened in PoE1, PoE2 and what Eothas is doing. a) the STORY and LORE intelligently and profoundly integrate with PoE1 and PoE2. a) the STORY and LORE intelligently and I highly recommend this DLC alongside the main story of PoE2* for the following reasons. I highly recommend this DLC alongside the main story of PoE2* for the following reasons.
