For most of his appearances, he appears to be completely stoic, but he explains early on in the games that this emotionlessness is done on purpose he views emotions as a fallacy of the weak human heart, and always strives to be above such things. Let there be glory for Team Galactic!Ĭyrus (in Japanese: アカギ Akagi) is the leader of Team Galactic and the main antagonist in Pokémon Diamond, Pokémon Pearl, and Pokémon Platinum, as well as their remakes, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl. Though our missions may differ, our hearts beat as one. And now, Team Galactic has obtained the energy to change the world! The power of dreams is within our grasp! Understand it, fellow members! My long-held dreamworld is on the verge of becoming reality. Together we pored over myths and exposed their secrets. That we are all incomplete, I hate it with my entire body and being. Because we are all so lacking, we fight, we maim. We humans and Pokémon are likewise incomplete. It has been, and always will be, a struggle to survive in this world. I find this state of affairs deplorable.įellow members of Team Galactic! Hear me! My name, as I appear to you today, is Cyrus. Ingo closed his eyes and let that warmth in his heart expand out.Because the human spirit is weak and incomplete, strife has spread. The edges of his lips curled every so slightly, the closest to a physical smile he could maintain. “They’re idiots, nii-san! I can tell when you’re smiling! Your smiles are verrry unique!” To them, I am frowning despite what I feel otherwise.” “⬛⬛⬛⬛, there’s no need to confront the passengers. Something deeply warm burst in Ingo’s heart. His words made you feel sad and that’s not right!” “Just because you’re frowning on the outside doesn’t mean you’re not smiling on the inside! I don’t care if he meant it as a joke. ![]() “I can tell when you’re smiling!” Akari said. “That was before he hurt you!” Akari snapped. She welcomed the supplies he brought to her out in the field and was always generally friendly around him. Akari had never shown any aggression to Volo before today. Ingo rushed off, carrying a struggling Akari. He scooped her up, pulling her away from Volo before she decided to follow up. His inability to smile was still a difficulty, even here in Hisui.ĭespite being a head smaller than Volo, she marched up to him and decked him in the stomach. Something like an old hurt welled up in Ingo’s heart. “Then again, I’ve never seen you smile, Ingo. “He’s frowning,” Volo pointed out with an easy laugh. However, there was no variety to her patterns and techniques. Battling against Captain Zisu was boring. Every battle Ingo had against Akari was riveting. Look! Even Ingo must be dreadfully bored of always winning against you.” “You two spend all your free time battling. ![]() He remembered nothing from where he came from, just shapeless feelings and vague flashes, but Akari’s presence was a comfort. He supposed she felt a kinship with someone who had also fallen from the rift. But Ingo had a feeling that wherever they had both come from, she was still a cut above the rest.Īfter they had met, Akari had barged her way into Ingo’s life and stubbornly remained by his side. Of course, she outperformed nearly everyone in Hisui. He wasn’t sure how he knew, but Akari was definitely one of the better trainers he had seen. “I have won this time, but your talent is very strong!” Ingo said. ![]() “You’re so good, Ingo!” she said as she returned Samurott to her Pokeball. “Bravo, Akari,” Ingo congratulated her as he returned Machamp.Īkari pouted at him, cheeks puffing out. With one final wobble, Samurott collapsed, falling to the ground. They threw everything into a battle as if it was their last one, as if they were trying to win a championship fight, …win what? She burned so bright (almost too bright that Ingo was worried what would happen when she burned out) and her Pokemon matched her energy. ![]() Even Irida had disapproved of that.) But no one understood the joy of battling, except for Akari.Īkari was a tenacious battler. (To say nothing about the fit they threw when Ingo had snuck off to Jubilife Village and obtained Pokeballs for his Pokemon. It was not a fight for survival like how most people battled in Hisui, but rather a challenge to see what heights could be reached, a higher state of synchronization between a trainer and a Pokemon.Įveryone in the Pearl Clan thought Ingo was rather crazy for wanting to battle for fun. There was just something about battling with his Pokemon that was terribly nostalgic. He hadn't even realized what he was missing until Akari had arrived, the blazing star she was, and reintroduce Ingo to the style of Pokemon battles that he had nearly forgotten. There was something about Pokemon battling that Ingo loved.Īnd he meant actual Pokemon battling.
